QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Good to know. Before your tattoo.
Here are answers to the most common questions about enquiries, price, appointments and aftercare. Your question isn’t here? Just write to me.
Ask a question ↗︎Enquiry & appointment
How do I enquire about a tattoo?
Send me an email at info@franknabe.de. Describe your idea, the body placement, the approximate size and where you’d like to get tattooed. A photo of the area and reference images help, but they aren’t required. I’ll get back to you with the next steps.
Do I need a finished design?
No. An idea is enough to start. We develop the design together – I often draw directly on the skin so the tattoo follows the shape and movement of your body.
Where do you tattoo?
I’m based in Stuttgart; we arrange the exact location when we plan your appointment. I also work as a guest artist in Hameln, Gießen and Kassel. I publish confirmed dates and guest studios as soon as they are set.
Which languages do you speak?
German, English and Spanish.
How long does a session take?
It depends on size, placement and level of detail. Smaller pieces are often finished in one session; larger projects such as sleeves, back pieces or blackout areas are spread over several appointments. We plan the schedule together.
Price & deposit
How much does a tattoo cost?
Every tattoo is planned individually, so there are no fixed prices. The price depends on size, placement, level of detail and the number of sessions. After your enquiry you’ll receive an estimate for your project.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes. A deposit secures your appointment. I’ll tell you the amount and terms when we book.
What if I need to reschedule?
Let me know as early as possible and we’ll find a new date. What happens to your deposit in that case is something we agree on when booking.
Before your appointment
How old do I need to be?
I only tattoo people aged 18 or over. Please bring a valid photo ID to your appointment.
How should I prepare?
Come well rested and not on an empty stomach, drink enough water and avoid alcohol beforehand. The skin in the area should be healthy and not sunburnt. Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area. If you have health questions, talk to your doctor beforehand.
Styles & cover-ups
Which styles do you tattoo?
Blackout and blackwork, Polynesian-inspired tattoos – including Samoan and Marquesan-inspired work – ornamental, geometric and mandala designs, and Borneo-inspired pieces.
Can you cover up an old tattoo?
Yes, cover-ups are part of my work. Send me a current daylight photo of the existing tattoo and tell me what you’d like instead. What’s possible depends on the design, size, colour and placement.
After your appointment
How do I care for my new tattoo?
After your appointment you’ll receive personal aftercare instructions. For a general guide to the first weeks, see the healing process page.
Are touch-ups included?
Yes. If an area needs reworking after healing, I’ll do it free of charge within 3–4 months.
