Marquesas inspired arm and chest
Polynesian tattoo traditions are rooted in culture and identity, carrying symbols of strength, guidance, and protection. In my work, I often begin by referencing Marquesas patterns. Strong, geometric motifs that represent resilience, family, and spiritual balance. From there, I adapt the design freehand, shaping it directly on the skin so that it becomes part of the body’s natural movement.

Micronesian inspired chest
This chest piece was created entirely freehand, drawing from Micronesian traditions of fine, repetitive linework and geometric structures. The motifs are influenced by navigation, ocean currents, and the connection between land and sea.
By adapting the design directly on the body, the patterns flow across the chest naturally, creating a bold yet balanced composition. The result is a tattoo that emphasizes identity, resilience, and protection while staying in harmony with the body muscle movement.

Process
The red lines are the first step — drawn directly on the skin as a guide for the tattoo. Instead of relying only on stencils, I map the design by hand so it follows the body’s movement and proportions.
Once the structure is set, the black work is added, turning the sketch into a finished piece that feels natural and balanced.

Technique
This piece was drawn entirely freehand, with no stencil used.

Freehand work is where the tattoo comes alive. Inspired by Samoan traditions, I draw directly on the body to follow its natural lines, each piece becomes unique.
The result is a Polynesian-inspired tattoo that connects heritage with contemporary body art. Every design I create is one of a kind.
